Steever Named Farm Broadcaster of the Year

Missouri Farm Broadcaster Tom Steever was honored as the 2017 Farm Broadcaster of The Year by the National Association of Farm Broadcasting during the 74th NAFB Convention in Kansas City, MO. Since 1969, NAFB has been recognizing distinguished broadcasters with the Farm Broadcaster of the Year award.

Steever is a well-recognized farm reporter and anchor with Brownfield Ag News based in Jefferson City, Mo. This past year, Steever logged 1,000 of miles and trips crisscrossing the state of Missouri, and the U.S. covering important agricultural news ranging from soil health to ag technology. As a 40-plus year NAFB member, Tom is dedicated to his career, and listeners, bringing critical ag news and information to the 10-state Brownfield Ag Network footprint.

Over the course of Steever's career, he continues to connect with listeners with very thorough and accurate reporting of daily agricultural news from around the globe. He is a tireless advocate for the farm broadcasting industry, and reinforces the importance of the agricultural industry whenever he has the opportunity.

Steever has served the NAFB in numerous roles, serving as committee chairs, a regional vice-president, NAFB Foundation and the 2010 National NAFB President. Steever is a South Dakota State University graduate with a degree in broadcast journalism. His broadcast career started at KSOO Radio in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He has been with Brownfield Ag News since 2003.
