Ukraine Grain Exports Doubling Every Month
USAgNet - 06/28/2022

Amid the ongoing Russian blockade of Ukrainian ports, the Cabinet of Ministers is working daily on establishing export routes across Ukraine's western borders with Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Moldova, he added.

"We are doing everything possible and the dynamics are very positive now,ā€¯ Kubrakov said.

Every month we grow grain exports across the western borders by almost 50%. If it were not for the fact that last year's harvest needs to be exported urgently, in a few months, we could return to the normal average monthly volume which we had earlier by means of ports.ā€¯

According to the UN, 25 million tons of grain are stuck in Ukraine due to the war in Russia, which has created the risk of famine across countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe.

President Volodymyr Zelensky previously noted that at least 500,000 tons in the territories occupied by Russia have so far been stolen by invading Russian forces. They also target and strike at granaries, further reducing Ukraineā€™s export potential.
