Corteva Agriscience Renames Vellozine to Reklemel Active
Michigan Ag Connection - 10/09/2018

Corteva Agriscience, agriculture division of DowDuPont, announced plans Monday to rename Vellozine active to Reklemel active, effective immediately. Reklemel is a novel sulfonamide nematicide with a unique mode of action against plant-parasitic nematodes, which differentiates it from other nematicides on the market.

Reklemel will be a core component of integrated nematode management programs offered by Corteva Agriscience. This true nematicide has no insecticidal or fungicidal activity, making it a highly-effective nematode control solution that provides a more favorable environmental and toxicological profile than conventional treatments.

Reklemel protects crop roots without compromising beneficial arthropods, pollinators and organisms in the soil.

"Farmers have told us they needed a better solution for nematode control, and we listened. Reklemel offers control unlike any other nematicide on the market today," said Santosh Mangalam, global portfolio leader - Insecticides & Nematicides. "It helps farmers care for their crop, their land and the people who work on their land."

This newly-named active ingredient is anticipated to be launched in product formulations globally, starting in 2021 in North America and Asia Pacific.

Reklemel is a complementary addition to Corteva Agriscience's active ingredients, joining Arylex active, Isoclast active, Pyraxalt active, Inatreq, Rinskor active and Zorvec active, as part of one of the most robust portfolios in the industry.

Corteva Agriscience is intended to become an independent, publicly traded company when the previously announced spinoff is complete by June 2019. The division combines the strengths of DuPont Pioneer, DuPont Crop Protection and Dow AgroSciences. Corteva Agriscience provides growers around the world with the most complete portfolio in the industry -- including some of the most recognized brands in agriculture: Pioneer, Encirca, the newly launched Brevant Seeds, as well as award-winning Crop Protection products -- while bringing new products to market through our solid pipeline of active chemistry and technologies.
