Systems Control Awards 2 Michigan Tech Scholarships

Systems Control, headquartered in Iron Mountain, has awarded $10,000 annual scholarships to two Michigan Tech engineering students and is seeking candidates for another scholarship opportunity. Heather Harris of Kingsford and Josh Poquette of
Iron Mountain were selected from a group of 46 applicants to receive the scholarship.
"It is an honor to be named a Systems Control Scholar and receive such generous funding to allow me to pursue my degree in electrical engineering at Michigan Tech," said Harris. "I had the opportunity to attend a number of highly ranked universities,
and the Systems Control Scholarship program, coupled with Tech's fantastic reputation, influenced my decision to attend Michigan Tech."
Poquette is a transfer student from Northern Michigan University and was excited to learn about this opportunity. "When I came to Tech and learned about the Systems Control Scholarship, I submitted my application and essay knowing that I had a
lot of strong competition for this scholarship," he said. "In addition to the financial support, the internship experience at Systems Control really caught my interest."
Systems Control is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of engineered solutions enabling reliable delivery of energy to the world. The company's scholarship program has awarded $10,000 annual scholarships to 10 Michigan Tech students
since its inception in 2015. In addition to the $10,000 annual scholarship, Systems Control Scholars earn an opportunity to participate in an internship or co-op experience at the company.
Dave Brule Sr., established this annual scholarship for Michigan Tech students Brule is the owner of Northern Star Industries and its subsidiary, Systems Control. He is a 1972 alumnus of Michigan Tech and served on its Board of Trustees for eight
years. The scholarship fund is intended to promote the study of electrical engineering, with an emphasis on electrical power systems.

brightest, with the hope that they will join our team upon graduation."
Michigan Tech and Systems Control are actively seeking candidates for a $10,000 scholarship to be awarded for the 2018-19 academic year.
