Michigan Ag Connection - 11/24/2020

Michigan continued to experience unseasonably warm temperatures accompanied by generally drier conditions, according to Marlo Johnson, director of the Great Lakes Regional Office of the National Agricultural Statistics Service. There were 5.5 days suitable for fieldwork in Michigan during the week ending Sunday. Warm and dry weather allowed for continued progress in harvest and fieldwork efforts.

Corn and soybean harvest continued as the season approached its conclusion. Corn harvested for grain was at 91 percent with a reported moisture content of 18 percent. Soybean harvest was nearly complete with 99 percent of the crop harvested.

Winter wheat approached full emergence at 99 percent with a reported 74 percent of the crop rated in good to excellent condition.

Other activities during the week included crop-marketing, harvest trucking efforts, and equipment maintenance.
