Liu's Work Contributes to MSU's SDG Global Rank
Michigan Ag Connection - 04/22/2021

Michigan State University has earned global accolades for its progress in working toward the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals -- including No. 3 in the United States and No. 66 globally for SDG 17, "Partnerships for the Goals." That standing was credited in part with research conducted by Jianguo "Jack" Liu -- University Distinguished Professor and the Rachel Carson Chair in Sustainability -- which has made significant scholarly contributions in developing an integrated framework for achieving SDGs around the world.

Liu, director of MSU's Center for Systems Integration and Sustainability, was a coordinating lead author of the global assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem services organized by the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. The work has become as a research priority by the Global Land Programme.
