Attend MSU Sanilac Co. Soybean Variety Trial Field Day



Michigan State University Extension and your local field crops educators will be hosting a Soybean Variety Trial Field Day at the MSU Soybean Variety Trial Plot in Sanilac County on Sept. 26. Come walk the plot and speak with MSU Soybean Variety Trial Coordinator Randy Laurenz, MSU Soybean Breeder Dechun Wang, and local field crops educators Jenna Falor and Phil Kaatz. This field day will be from 4 to 6 p.m. and is a casual come and go as you please event with light refreshments.

This plot provides much to see. There are 127 commercial varieties from 17 companies as well as 33 promising lines from MSU for you to view. The relative maturity of beans in the plot span from 1.1 to 3.1 and includes conventional, glyphosate resistant, Enlist E3, Extend Flex and GT27/LL varieties.

The plot is hosted by Rick Gerstenberger and is located just east of his farm, 420 E. Forester Road, Sandusky, on the southwest corner of Banner and Forester Roads approximately 4 miles northeast of Sandusky. Attendees are asked to park along the side of Banner Road.
