The Michigan Pork Producers Association (MPPA) and the National Pork Board have announced the election of pork producer delegate candidates for the 2024 National Pork Producers (Pork Act) Delegate Body. The election will take place during the MPPA's annual meeting on June 14, 2023, at the Radisson Hotel in Lansing, MI. The delegates will have important responsibilities, including nominating members for the National Pork Board and determining the allocation of the Pork Checkoff funds.
All pork producers in Michigan are invited to attend the meeting. Eligible producers, who are residents of the state and have fulfilled all assessment payments, can be considered as delegate candidates and participate in the election process. It is recommended that eligible producers bring a sales receipt as proof of hog sales made in their name and the corresponding checkoff deductions.
