GreenStone Offers Generous Agriculture Scholarships

GreenStone Farm Credit Services, a prominent lender based in East Lansing, has announced a significant opportunity for incoming and current college students passionate about agriculture, timber, and natural resources. With a commitment to fostering the next generation in these fields, GreenStone is offering scholarships totaling up to $60,000 for undergraduate students.

As the largest agricultural lender in Michigan and northeastern Wisconsin, and ranking as the sixth largest association in the Farm Credit System nationwide, GreenStone aims to empower students pursuing careers in these vital sectors. Over the past decade, GreenStone has awarded more than $435,000 in scholarships to undergraduate students, illustrating its dedication to supporting the future of agriculture and natural resources.

"GreenStone Farm Credit Services recognizes that investing in the future of agriculture and natural resources is essential for the industry's sustainability," the company emphasized in a statement.

The available scholarships cater to both incoming freshmen and current college students. Freshmen enrolled in four-year college programs can apply for scholarships amounting to $2,000, while those attending two-year college programs are eligible for $1,000. Additionally, the Dave Armstrong Scholarship Program, named after GreenStone’s esteemed former CEO of 41 years, offers four current college students a substantial $5,000 scholarship each.

To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must reside within GreenStone's territory, encompassing Michigan and select counties in northeastern Wisconsin. Prospective students are required to pursue studies in agricultural-related fields, including timber and natural resources, while showcasing academic excellence and demonstrating leadership in their academic institution, community, and agricultural activities.

March 1 marks the deadline for these scholarship opportunities.
