MSU Extension Launches New Homepage for DEMaND Series

MSU Extension Launches New Homepage for DEMaND Series

Whether you are new to farming or new to being in a decision-making role, your farming future might look both exciting and daunting. The world of farming offers a number of challenges that can become roadblocks that limit a farm’s ability to grow. As you step into the role of a farm manager, facing these challenges requires passion, creativity and drive. But it also requires understanding, because knowing how to face these roadblocks can also be a challenge.

In 2019, MSU Extension created a series devoted to helping new managers and decision-makers identify and successfully manage challenges in their farm business. Today, the Developing and Educating Managers and New Decision-makers (DEMaND) Series continues to offer guidance to the next generation of farm operators by helping individuals learn about financial and business strategies.

The series features an assortment of free educational publications authored by MSU Extension educators and reviewed by agricultural professionals. This combination of university and industry expertise provides up-to-date information on a variety of important topics from insurance to marketing, land access to loans and credit, cost of production to budgeting and more.

Webinar programs offer added insight into essential topics featuring guest speakers with expertise in lending, income taxes and business planning. Educational videos are also available featuring financial statement walkthroughs and grain marketing techniques.

Entering its sixth year, the DEMaND Series has launched a new homepage. Resources are now easily available by both type and topic with easy access to the latest articles, events, publications and videos. Publications translated into Spanish are also accessible throughout the website.
