Tim Kruithoff Honored as 2025 Master Pork Producer Award Winner

By Andi Anderson

Tim Kruithoff, a dedicated pork producer from Michigan, has been awarded the 2025 Master Pork Producer Award by the Michigan Pork Producers Association.

This prestigious recognition is given to individuals who demonstrate excellence in pork production and leadership within the industry.

Although Kruithoff initially planned a career in tool and die, his love for farming brought him back to his family farm. Today, as a member of the Kent County Farm Bureau, he has successfully led Kruithoff Family Farms, which produces around 25,000 market hogs annually.

To support their expansion, the family acquired an Indiana farrowing facility three years ago, ensuring a steady supply of pigs for finishing in Michigan.

“Farming hogs can be challenging,” said his son, Justin Kruithoff. “There are not always good margins, but he has found a way to thrive. He also plays a significant role in advocating for the industry.”

Kruithoff’s contributions extend beyond his farm. He actively participates in industry boards and works closely with legislators to advocate for policies that benefit pork producers.

Representative Luke Meerman of the 89th District praised his leadership, stating, “Tim looks beyond his farm’s boundaries. He is deeply committed to his family, his farm, and the future of the industry.”

Through innovation, advocacy, and dedication, Kruithoff continues to shape Michigan’s pork industry. His recognition as the 2025 Master Pork Producer reflects his unwavering commitment to excellence in pork production and leadership.
