Michigan's agricultural products are set to gain global exposure as the Food Export Association of the Midwest collaborates with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) to host the Summer in the Cities Buyers' Mission in Grand Rapids from July 29-30, 2024.
MDARD Director Tim Boring expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the significance of attracting international buyers to Michigan. The event provides a platform for Michigan businesses to connect with pre-qualified international buyers from diverse markets worldwide.
The Buyers' Mission will welcome representatives from over 15 different international markets, offering Michigan companies invaluable insights into global exporting opportunities. Industry professionals will engage in one-on-one meetings with companies, providing expertise and market-specific advice.
Jamie Zmitko-Somers, MDARD's Agriculture Development Bureau Director, emphasized the importance of fostering global connections for Michigan products. Strengthening partnerships with international companies opens doors for Michigan products to reach shelves worldwide, advancing the state's reputation as a global hub for quality goods.
Early registration for the event is open until May 22, 2024, with a fee of $325, which includes a networking lunch with buyers. A diverse range of products, including snacks, alcoholic beverages, fruits, dry beans, and dairy products, will be showcased during the event.
