The Michigan Agri-Business Association will host its 2026 Winter Conference and Trade Show on January 13-14 at the Lansing Center, marking the 93rd year of the long-running event. The conference brings together agribusiness professionals from across the state for two days of education, networking, and industry updates.
Activities begin Tuesday morning with registration and a grab-and-go breakfast, followed by a full schedule of concurrent sessions. Highlights include an off-site livestock and feed industry update at the Michigan State University Dairy Teaching and Research Center, a policy review focused on state and federal issues, and multiple agronomy sessions covering soybeans, specialty crops, grain markets, and fertilizer logistics.
Applicator training, cybersecurity in the agricultural supply chain, and expert presentations from Michigan State University on insect and weed management will also be offered.
The trade show opens Tuesday afternoon and continues through Wednesday, featuring exhibitors showcasing products and services for today’s agriculture sector. An opening reception and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on the trade show floor Tuesday evening.
Wednesday’s programming includes workshops on agricultural drone use, seed treatment, and crop-specific updates for wheat, dry beans, sugar beets, and corn. Additional sessions will focus on farm financial conditions, credit management, and regulatory training for restricted-use pesticide dealers. The conference concludes with a listening session featuring MSU Extension and AgBioResearch leaders.
Featured speakers include Matt Elliott of Blue Lake Ideas during the opening luncheon, The Fertilizer Institute’s Chief Economist Veronica Nigh during fertilizer sessions, North American Millers’ Association President Jane DeMarchi during the wheat program, and Dr. Jim Mintert of Purdue University during a farm credit discussion. A leadership session led by People Spark Consulting will also focus on building stronger, more engaged teams.
