Roberts, Stabenow Announce Hemp Production Hearing

U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman Pat Roberts, R-Kan., and Ranking Member Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., Wednesday announced the Committee will hold a hearing titled, "Hemp Production and the 2018 Farm Bill."
The first panel of speakers will include:
- Greg Ibach, Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Washington, D.C.
- Stephen Alexander Vaden, General Counsel, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Washington, D.C.
- Alexandra Dapolito Dunn, Assistant Administrator, Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C.
- Dr. Amy P. Abernethy, Principal Deputy Commissioner of Food and Drugs, Office of the Commissioner, U.S. Food & Drug Administration, Silver Spring, Md.
The second panel of speakers will include:
- Brian Furnish, Farmer, Cynthiana, Ky.
- Erica Stark, Executive Director, National Hemp Association, Reading, Pa.
- Darrell G. Seki, Sr., Tribal Chairman, Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians, Red Lake, Minn.
The hearing will be held July 25 beginning at 9:30 a.m. in 328A Russell Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The hearing will be webcast live on ag.senate.gov.
