Farm Bureau 2026 Convention Focuses on Policy

By Jamie Martin

The 107th American Farm Bureau Convention brought together more than 4,000 farmers and ranchers for a nationwide discussion on the future of agriculture. Held in Anaheim, California, the event highlighted leadership, policy solutions, innovation, and community engagement.

The Farm Bureau president opened the convention by encouraging members to remain optimistic despite financial pressures facing agriculture. He called on farmers to lead locally, support one another, and inspire young people to become active voices within the organization and their communities.

A key moment of the convention was a joint discussion featuring leaders from both the Senate and House agriculture committees. The bipartisan conversation focused on important issues such as passing a new farm bill, expanding agricultural markets, addressing labor challenges, and strengthening advocacy efforts for rural America.

Federal leadership was also represented, with Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, with updates shared on national agriculture programs and future priorities. Discussions emphasized the importance of supporting farmers through effective policies while adapting to changing economic and environmental conditions.

Educational sessions were a major part of the convention experience. Livestreamed events included leadership talks, panel discussions, and award presentations. Topics covered mental health awareness in farming communities, rural economic development, and empowering young leaders through education and mentorship.

Another highlight was the Ag Innovation Challenge, which showcased new agricultural technologies and ideas. Entrepreneurs competed for funding by presenting solutions designed to improve farm efficiency and decision-making. The winning innovation focused on integrating farm data, compliance tools, and agronomic insights into one digital platform.

The convention concluded with a strong message of collaboration and progress. By bringing together farmers, policymakers, and innovators, the event reinforced Farm Bureau’s role in shaping a resilient and forward-looking agricultural industry.
