Grain prices and market conditions significantly impact farm revenue and product availability. Understanding how these factors influence your operations is key to making informed decisions that secure profits and meet future needs.
Identifying your farm’s break-even crop prices and input requirements is essential for maximizing yield potential and maintaining financial stability. To help farmers navigate these challenges, a webinar program on Marketing and Input Strategies will explore current market conditions and offer strategies for implementing effective farm plans.
The webinar will cover a range of topics aimed at helping farmers make better decisions regarding grain sales, input purchases, and risk management. It will also focus on how to manage price fluctuations, input availability, and cash flow to ensure profitability. The goal is to equip farmers with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in volatile markets.
Session Topics Include:
- Understanding Market Conditions: Explore the current supply and demand factors affecting grain markets and how these influence selling and buying strategies.
- Maximizing Cash and Identifying Needs: Learn when to sell grain and how to manage high-demand products, along with available pricing tools to secure profits.
- Prioritizing Product Purchases: Address concerns about product availability, alternatives that meet your needs, and the role of on-farm storage in your strategy.
Farmers face multiple risks, including production risks due to weather and price risks from volatile markets. To assist in managing these risks, the Marketing and Input Strategies webinar is part of a broader Farm Policy and Risk Management Series.
The first session is scheduled for Thursday, November 7, at 6:30 p.m., with a repeat session on Tuesday, December 3, at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required to participate. For more information visit https://www.canr.msu.edu/outreach/ and to register, visit the website.
