Farmers and crop advisors recognize the many benefits of cover crops. Cover crops prevent erosion, improve soil health, improve water quality, suppress weeds and contribute to the resilience of farming systems. Whether you are new to the practice or a long-term user, the Midwest Cover Crops Council (MCCC) has information and resources to help you succeed with cover crops.
Every year, the MCCC has an annual business meeting followed by a conference for farmers, researchers, educators, agency personnel, non-governmental organizations and agribusiness to learn the latest cover crop information. The meeting rotates around the Midwest. This year's meeting will be held in Ada, Ohio, in conjunction with the Conservation Tillage and Technology Conference.
The 2022 MCCC annual meeting and conference will be March 7 at The Inn at Ohio Northern University (ONU), 525 S. Main St, Ada, Ohio, Meeting Rooms 1-2 and 3-4. Registration is $50 ($25 for farmers and students) before Feb. 25. MCCC members will give state reports and there will be time for networking. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included, and CEUs will be offered.
The MCCC includes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Ontario.
The Conservation Tillage and Technology Conference will follow March 8-9 at ONU. This is an opportunity to connect with other farmers and CCAs, experience new ideas and increase your net income. Registration is a flat rate of $100. After Feb. 25, registration is $150. This registration includes exclusive access to all presentations online after about March 21. These will be available until April 22.
