New GROWMARK Biological Plant Planned in Missouri

New GROWMARK Biological Plant Planned in Missouri

By Jamie Martin

An agricultural cooperative has revealed plans to construct a modern biological crop input manufacturing facility in Missouri. The new plant will be built at an existing agricultural production location and is scheduled to begin operations in early 2027.

The facility will focus on manufacturing biological crop inputs for agricultural companies that either lack their own production facilities or need additional manufacturing support. Along with crop products, the plant will also be equipped to produce animal biological and waste treatment products, allowing it to serve multiple areas of the agricultural industry.

Biological crop inputs are derived from natural substances or living organisms. These products are used to protect crops, enhance plant growth, and improve soil health. They may replace or complement traditional synthetic inputs and help farmers manage pests, improve nutrient use, and maintain healthy soils. The Missouri plant will manufacture biostimulants, biopesticides, and biofertilizers designed to support sustainable and efficient farming systems.

Advances in agricultural biological research have created new opportunities for farmers to adopt environmentally responsible practices. These solutions allow farmers to protect crops while supporting long-term soil health and sustainability goals, which benefit both producers and consumers.

"The scientific advancements in agricultural biologicals have introduced innovative methods for farmers to safeguard their plants and improve soil health with more sustainable options," said Rod Wells, GROWMARK's Senior Vice President of Strategy and Logistics. “It's beneficial for both farmers and consumers when we enable farmers to grow healthier and stronger crops using these sustainable practices.”

Demand for biological products is growing rapidly across the agricultural sector. However, current manufacturing capacity has struggled to keep pace with this growth. Many biological products have been developed, but limited production facilities have slowed their availability. The new manufacturing site will help close this gap by expanding domestic production capacity.

This investment will allow the cooperative to play a larger role in the agricultural supply chain while delivering high-quality, U.S.-made biological products to customers throughout North America. The project reflects a continued commitment to innovation, sustainability, and improved service for farmers and agricultural partners.
