Soybean Farm Research Reveals Insights

Soybean Farm Research Reveals Insights

By Andi Anderson

Michigan unveils the results of 52 extensive on-farm research trials conducted in 2023 across the state. These outcomes will be presented at six educational programs, providing crucial insights into the effects of diverse management practices, products, and equipment on soybean yield and profitability.

Scheduled educational sessions will also feature James DeDecker from MSU’s Upper Peninsula Research and Extension Center and Tim Duckert from AgroLiquid. They will offer practical strategies to address deer damage in soybeans. Participants will have the opportunity to engage, ask questions, and contribute ideas for the upcoming 2024 on-farm research topics.

These informative programs offer a pesticide applicator recertification credit and will take place on the following dates and locations:

  • Jan. 5, Lenawee Christian Center Auditorium, Adrian, MI 49221 (Part of the Center For Excellence Crop Day)
  • Jan. 11, AgroLiquid, St. Johns, MI 48879
  • Jan. 16, GreenMark Equipment, Three Rivers, MI 49093
  • Jan.17, The Trestle Stop Restaurant, Hamilton, MI 49419
  • Jan. 30, Williams Township Hall, Auburn, MI 48611
  • Jan. 31, Beagio's Pizza, Kingston, MI 48741

All sessions commence with registration at 9 a.m., except for Adrian, which begins at 8:30 a.m.

The Michigan Soybean Checkoff program covers all expenses. However, pre-registration is advised for accurate lunch and material arrangements. Register online at the 2024 On-Farm Research Winter Meetings registration page or call the Michigan Soybean Checkoff office in St. Johns at 989-652-3294. Provide your name, contact details, preferred location, and the number of attendees.

Secure your spot by Dec. 29 for the Adrian session and by Jan. 5, 2024, for all other locations to ensure your participation in this insightful agricultural event.
