The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) is opening the 2025 cycle for Rural Development Fund Grants.
These grants are designed to promote the sustainability of land-based industries and enhance infrastructure in rural communities across the state.
The application process begins on October 10, 2024, and submissions must be made through the new MiAgGrants platform, which requires either a Citizen or Business Account. Individuals can create these accounts via the MiLogin system, which streamlines the application process for both personal and business transactions.
Grant Timeline and Details:
The request for proposals (RFP) will be officially released on October 10, 2024, with an informational webinar scheduled for October 24 at 10:00 AM EST. This session will provide insights into the application process, eligibility criteria, and the types of projects that can be funded.
All proposals are due by December 5, 2024, at 5:00 PM EST. Following submission, a review and evaluation meeting will be conducted by the Joint Evaluation Committee (JEC) in January 2025. The final funding awards will be announced in April 2025.
How to Apply:
Applicants can choose between two account types when submitting applications:
Citizen Account: For individuals using Michigan's online services for personal transactions.
Business Account: For those applying on behalf of a business, organization, or corporation.
Applicants are encouraged to review the 2025 Rural Development Fund Grant Guidelines and the Rural Development Fund Fact Sheet before submitting their proposals.
