Agent Charitable Fund Raises 75K to Fight Hunger in Michigan

By Andi Anderson

The Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan’s Agent Charitable Fund (ACF) raised $75,000 during its fifth annual Statewide Fundraiser on May 14. Held at the PohlCat Golf Course in Mount Pleasant, the event was presented by Restoration 1 of Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo and featured a sold-out golf scramble, banquet, and both live and silent auctions.

ACF Chair Kelly Obenauf credited the success of the event to strong community support. “This event would not be possible without the continued support of our field force, local sponsors and community supporters,” she said.

The funds raised will support hunger relief efforts across Michigan, helping feed children, families, and individuals in need. “All funds raised will stay right here in Michigan,” said CJ Griffin, Statewide Fundraiser Co-Chair. “We’re working hard to move the needle on food insecurity and find new ways to make an impact.”

The ACF partners with Farm Bureau Insurance agents and local county Farm Bureaus to provide hunger-relief grants and donation matches. These grants are reviewed bi-monthly, with the next application deadline on June 6. Full details and eligibility criteria are available on the Agent Charitable Fund website.

Administered by the Michigan Foundation for Agriculture, ACF is a donor-designated fund supporting over 3,000 hunger-relief agencies. Its mission, "Feeding the Future," combines food programs and educational outreach to support Michigan residents facing food insecurity.

With each fundraiser and grant program, the ACF strengthens its commitment to ending hunger in Michigan, proving that the power of partnerships and community engagement can make a lasting difference.
