The Ottawa Conservation District is seeking a Conservation Technical Assistance Program (CTAP) Coordinator to support sustainable farming practices and environmental stewardship in Ottawa County, Michigan.
This position will advance the mission of the district by implementing the Michigan Agricultural Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) and promoting regenerative agriculture.
The CTAP Coordinator will deliver technical assistance directly to farmers. Responsibilities include conducting farm-specific risk assessments, developing conservation plans, and coordinating resources from local, state, and federal agencies to help farmers reduce environmental risks.
A critical part of the role is assisting farmers in achieving MAEAP verification, which recognizes environmentally responsible farm practices.
The CTAP Coordinator will work closely with the Conservation District team to promote MAEAP and educate diverse audiences on the importance of soil health assessments.
This includes advocating for practices that improve soil health and align with regenerative agriculture goals.
