Michigan State University Extension has launched a new video series titled "An Introduction to Grain Marketing." The series aims to provide beginning farmers with a fundamental understanding of grain marketing. The collection consists of short videos, each less than five minutes long, covering various aspects of grain marketing, including the commodity futures market, pricing tools utilization, and developing pre and post-harvest marketing plans.
The goal of the series is to equip farmers with the necessary knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about selling their grain. By understanding the factors that influence grain prices and being able to use pricing tools effectively, farmers can ensure they capture a good price for their commodities.
The video series is available for free on the MSU Farm Business Management website. The website offers a range of resources, such as articles, decision-making tools, and workshop recordings, as part of its Commodity Marketing subpage.
