National urban agriculture conference in Detroit

By Andi Anderson

The National Urban Agriculture Conference is set to take place in Detroit, MI, from Aug. 4-6, 2024.

Organized by the USDA’s Farm Service Agency and lead organizer NUag Initiative, the conference aims to strengthen connections between USDA programs and those involved in urban agriculture.

One of the conference highlights is the series of bus tours showcasing urban farms in Detroit. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit and learn from these innovative urban agricultural operations.

The conference will also provide valuable information on USDA resources available to urban farmers, educators, administrators, business and nonprofit leaders, and retail and wholesale companies.

The event will feature listening sessions and presentations focusing on beneficial tools, training, resources, and efforts to expand local and regional food systems.

Approximately 500 attendees are expected, including USDA employees, urban farmers, educators, administrators, business and nonprofit leaders, and retail and wholesale companies.

Early bird pricing for conference registration is available until June 30. To learn more about the conference and to register, visit the conference website.
