Michigan State University Extension has announced that the Soybean Harvest Equipment Field Day, originally scheduled for September 16, 2025, at the Saginaw Valley Research and Extension Center, has been cancelled.
Despite the cancellation, the focus on reducing soybean harvest losses remains a priority for farmers and educators alike. Harvest losses can significantly impact yields and profitability, making it essential for producers to stay informed about best practices and efficiency measures.
MSU Extension and the Michigan Soybean Committee emphasized their continued commitment to providing educational resources. Farmers are encouraged to review Michigan State University Extension bulletin E3487, Reducing Soybean Harvest Losses, which offers guidance on identifying, reducing, and managing losses during harvest.
The program also recognized its partners, including Tri-County Equipment, Inc., Darwin and Neil Hecht, and Uebler Farms, L.L.C., for their support in planning the event. While the field day will not be held this year, organizers plan to continue developing resources, publications, and future events to help farmers improve soybean harvest efficiency.
Farmers with questions or a need for additional information about soybean production are encouraged to contact Eric Anderson at 269-359-0565 or eander32@msu.edu
Though this year’s event has been canceled, Michigan State University Extension and the Michigan Soybean Committee remain committed to serving the farming community through ongoing educational opportunities.
