Applications Open for C2R2 Water Program Grants
Michigan Ag Connection - 11/20/2020

Governor Whitmer's recent announcement to invest in water infrastructure under Michigan's Clean Water Plan included $25 million for the creation of the Consolidation and Contamination Risk Reduction (C2R2) grant program. The C2R2 grant is available to drinking water systems for projects that remove or reduce PFAS or other contaminants, as defined under state or federal drinking water regulations, or efforts to consolidate systems or connect contaminated private wells to a local municipal system.

The application and guidance materials are available on the C2R2 webpage. Applications will be scored and processed quarterly and will be accepted continuously until funding is exhausted. Applications received by close of business Jan. 31 will be considered for the first round of funding.

A webinar with specific C2R2 guidance is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Dec. 14.

Details surrounding the other newly announced grant and loan programs are being established. Further information is available on the MI Clean Water Plan webpage.
