Michigan State University (MSU) Extension is launching its 2025 Field Crops Webinar Series, providing field crop producers, consultants, and agribusiness professionals with expert insights on crop production and pest management. The eight-session series begins February 3 and runs through March 24, 2025.
The first session will focus on new corn planting strategies, including the use of short hybrids and multiple hybrid plantings. Topics such as weather trends, yield components, planting timing, seeding rates, row spacing, and financial impacts will also be discussed.
This year’s series follows the theme "Two for the Price of One: Conversations in Row Crop Agriculture." Each session will feature two expert speakers discussing key topics in an informal talk-show format, allowing participants to engage and ask questions.
The webinars will be held live on Monday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m. Registration costs $20 per person for access to the entire series. Participants can earn seven restricted-use pesticide (RUP) applicator credits and eight certified crop adviser (CCA) continuing education units (CEU). Those attending live sessions can receive one CCA CEU and one RUP credit per week, except on March 17.
Webinars will be recorded for later viewing, but credits are only available to those attending live. Registered participants will receive weekly email reminders with webinar links and important updates.
The sessions can be accessed on mobile devices or computers with a stable internet connection.
