The Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB) Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Michelle Reynaert as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer, effective July 29, 2024. Reynaert will bring nearly 16 years of operational leadership experience from her career at Sparrow Health System, a regional healthcare network.

Most recently, Reynaert served as Sparrow’s vice president of community engagement, leading the largest comprehensive fundraising campaign in the organization’s history.

Her previous leadership roles include positions at the Capital Area Humane Society, Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids, and the Capital Area United Way.

As MFB’s COO, Reynaert will lead the development and implementation of organizational goals, strategic action plans, and budget activities for MFB.

She will also oversee the operations of MFB affiliate companies, including the Michigan Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Association (MACMA) and Great Lakes Ag Labor Services (GLALS).

According to MFB President Carl Bednarski, Reynaert’s results-driven leadership and forward-thinking approach will ensure the organization remains relevant to its members and Michigan agriculture.

“She has demonstrated an impressive track record of leadership success in building strong teams, managing operations, and executing record-breaking organizational outcomes,” Bednarski said.

Reynaert is active in various community and professional organizations in the Greater Lansing region. She currently serves as the membership chair of Lansing Rotary Club and is a past president of the group’s foundation board. She is a member of Athena WIN and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

A resident of Grand Ledge, Reynaert holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from Michigan State University and a master’s in administration from Central Michigan University.

“I’m incredibly honored and excited to join the Michigan Farm Bureau Family,” Reynaert said.

“The roots of this organization run deep and the people who serve its mission are passionate advocates for our purpose. I look forward to working with the Board and team members to further elevate the services we provide to members and partners in agriculture and beyond.”
