A group of Michigan agribusinesses have teamed up to plant a crop on a 40-acre parcel of land and donate the proceeds to Growing Hope Globally, a non-profit organization that supports agricultural development programs in Cambodia.
The project is being led by GreenMark Equipment, a John Deere dealer based in Holland, Michigan. GreenMark has been a long-time supporter of Growing Hope Globally, and this project is a way for the company to give back to the community and train its employees.
In addition to GreenMark Equipment, other participating agribusinesses include Soil Test Pro, Beck's Hybrids, Wilbur Ellis, and Nutrien Ag Solutions. These companies are donating land, seed, chemicals, and equipment to the project.
The crop that will be planted is corn. The corn will be harvested and sold, and the proceeds will be donated to Growing Hope Globally. The funds will be used to support agricultural development programs in Cambodia, which will help to improve food security and nutrition for people living in hunger.
The project is expected to generate more than $100,000 for Growing Hope Globally. The funds will be used to support programs that train farmers in Cambodia on modern agricultural techniques, provide them with access to seeds and fertilizer, and help them to market their crops.
The project is a great example of how Michigan agribusinesses can come together to make a difference in the world. It is also a great opportunity for GreenMark Equipment to train its employees and give them hands-on experience in farming.
