Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB) has unveiled the winners of its 2024 Young Farmer Awards, recognizing outstanding individuals for their exceptional contributions to the agricultural sector. From leadership and achievement to employee excellence and overall agricultural excellence, these winners exemplify the spirit of innovation and dedication in Michigan agriculture.

In the Leadership category, John Bowsky, a fourth-generation farmer from Sanilac County, stood out for his remarkable contributions to agricultural leadership and community engagement. His commitment to sustainable farming practices and advocacy for Michigan's agricultural community earned him the prestigious Young Agriculture Leader Award.

Andrew Braun, hailing from Clinton County, was recognized in the Employee category for his invaluable contributions to farm management and leadership. Managing vast acres of potato ground while actively participating in community initiatives, Braun's dedication to agricultural success is truly commendable.

Matt and Alisha Gibson, operating a thriving hog-finishing facility in Kalamazoo County, received the Achievement Award for their exemplary success in agricultural entrepreneurship. Their innovative farming practices and commitment to sustainability have set a benchmark for excellence in the industry.

Darcy Lipskey, a sixth-generation farmer from Sanilac County, was honored with the Excellence in Agriculture Award for her outstanding contributions to agricultural innovation and community service. From supporting local food initiatives to fostering youth engagement in agriculture, Lipskey's dedication to the farming community is truly inspiring.
