Modern Farm Tasks Simplified with Telehandlers

Modern Farm Tasks Simplified with Telehandlers

By Jamie Martin

On today’s farms, efficiency and versatility are key. While tractors and loaders remain important, farmers are turning to telehandlers for their ability to combine lifting power, extended reach, and multipurpose use. JLG Industries, part of Oshkosh Corporation, has responded with its JLG Agriculture telehandler line, engineered specifically for farm work.

“Telehandlers have become an essential tool in modern agriculture,” said Rob Barger, Product Manager – Telehandlers, JLG Agriculture. “By leveraging our engineering expertise, we’ve designed JLG Ag telehandlers to be purpose-built for farm work — durable, multipurpose machines that help farmers enhance productivity.”

These telehandlers feature telescopic booms that provide higher lift and forward reach, ideal for stacking hay or loading feed mixers. Reinforced chassis and hydraulic load-sensing systems ensure stability and strength when lifting heavy materials such as bulk feed or hay bales.

Farmers also benefit from quick-change versatility. Attachments like forks, buckets, grapples, and augers can be switched hydraulically without leaving the cab, reducing downtime and maximizing productivity. Smooth precision controls allow safe handling of delicate loads, including seed pallets and hay.

The machines are ruggedly built for tough agricultural conditions, with heavy-duty tires, sealed components, and reversing fans to keep them working in dust and debris. Operator-focused designs such as climate-controlled cabs, ergonomic controls, and wide visibility make them both safe and comfortable.

By replacing multiple machines, JLG Agriculture telehandlers provide an efficient and reliable solution for farms. Their combination of strength, reach, and durability ensures farmers can complete daily tasks with greater ease and confidence.
