ADM launches regenerative agriculture program

ADM launches regenerative agriculture program

By Andi Anderson

ADM, a global leader in agricultural products and ingredients, has launched a new regenerative agriculture program called re:generations. The program is designed to incentivize farmers to adopt practices that benefit the environment and their bottom line.

Under the re:generations program, farmers can receive premium payments for adopting practices such as cover cropping, reduced tillage, and nutrient management. ADM is also offering additional premiums for grain delivered to the company that is grown using regenerative practices.

The re:generations program is designed to be easy to use and accessible to farmers of all sizes. ADM program managers are available to provide in-person support and answer questions.

ADM's goal is to scale regenerative agriculture practices around the globe. With its value chain that stretches from producers to downstream customers, ADM has a unique opportunity to make a difference.

Regenerative agriculture is a system of farming that aims to improve soil health, increase biodiversity, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It is based on the principles of minimal soil disturbance, diversity, and keeping the soil covered.

Regenerative agriculture practices can have a number of benefits for farmers, including:

Improved soil health: Regenerative agriculture practices can help to improve soil structure, increase organic matter content, and improve water infiltration. This can lead to increased crop yields and reduced input costs.

Increased biodiversity: Regenerative agriculture practices can help to increase the diversity of plants and animals on a farm. This can improve pest and disease resistance and make the farm more resilient to climate change.

Reduced greenhouse gas emissions: Regenerative agriculture practices can help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture by sequestering carbon in the soil.

ADM's re:generations program is a welcome development in the agricultural industry. By incentivizing farmers to adopt regenerative practices, ADM can help to protect the environment and ensure the long-term sustainability of agriculture.
