The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) proudly introduces MiAgGrants, a revolutionary grants management system. This innovative platform aims to simplify and enhance the grant application experience for Michigan businesses, farms, and non-profits.
MDARD Director Tim Boring expressed excitement about MiAgGrants' launch, recognizing its potential to address challenges faced by local applicants seeking MDARD's grant opportunities. The platform, he emphasized, will significantly streamline processes and save valuable time.
MiAgGrants is designed to oversee the entire lifecycle of MDARD's grants, offering comprehensive data management, financial review support, and active grant monitoring. It facilitates user-friendly electronic submissions, competitive application reviews, and efficient management of awarded projects.
In addition to streamlining processes, MiAgGrants aims to foster better communication between MDARD and applicants. It introduces several new grant programs, such as the Value-Added Regional Food Systems Grant, Resilient Food System Infrastructure Grant, Minority Program Grant, and the already accessible Specialty Crop Block Grant.
Heather Throne, MDARD's Grants and Commodity Program Manager, emphasized MiAgGrants' role in bolstering communication between MDARD and applicants. It serves as a centralized hub, offering comprehensive support to Michigan businesses and communities seeking grant services.
