As the new chairperson, Cotti looks forward to supporting the accomplished faculty, staff, scholars, and students at AFRE. He also emphasizes the importance of collaborating with external stakeholders in Michigan to address applied economics issues and strengthen the partnership between MSU and the state.
Cotti takes over from Scott Swinton, Ph.D., who served as AFRE chairperson from 2021 to 2023. Swinton, a University Distinguished Professor, will return to the AFRE faculty, having made significant contributions to the department's success.
