The Michigan Ag Council has chosen its newest class of Michigan GROWN, Michigan GREAT Ambassadors. This program identifies passionate young individuals to advocate for Michigan agriculture. These ambassadors will become the faces of the "Michigan GROWN, Michigan GREAT" campaign, educating consumers about the state's rich agricultural heritage.
The six chosen ambassadors offer a diverse range of agricultural experience. From dairy and veterinary science to asparagus and wine production, they represent many facets of Michigan's farming industry.
Kassidy Acker, Leah Engler, Julia Hardy, Cassie Stone, Emma Woller, and Zoey Zupin will undergo training and spend the rest of 2024 promoting local food.
They'll be present at farmers markets and other events, engaging with consumers and sharing their knowledge. Additionally, they'll utilize social media, podcasts, and blogs to spread the message about Michigan agriculture.
"We're confident this group's enthusiasm for Michigan agriculture will shine through," said Lead Ambassador Kassidy Acker. They aim to connect with consumers and raise awareness of the state's vast and diverse farming sector.
The Michigan Ag Council, a collaboration between agricultural groups and businesses, works to promote understanding of food and agriculture. Launched in 2016, the Michigan GROWN, Michigan GREAT campaign aims to educate consumers about Michigan's over 300 agricultural products and encourage them to choose locally grown and produced food.
