Nominations Open for MSU's 2024 Dairy Farm of the Year Award

The Michigan State University (MSU) Department of Animal Science is inviting nominations for the highly coveted 2024 Dairy Farm of the Year Award.

This esteemed accolade honors farmers, farm partners, or families who have demonstrated exceptional expertise in dairy farming while making significant contributions to the industry and their community. Recognized as the highest distinction granted by the MSU Animal Science Department to Michigan's dairy farmers, this award celebrates excellence and dedication.

Nomination forms and information about the award, including a list of previous winners, can be accessed online or by searching MSU Dairy Farm of the Year. Even if complete information is not available, nominations are still encouraged and welcomed.

All nominations must be submitted to Miriam Weber Nielsen, chair of the selection committee, at msw@msu.edu, by September 15. A nomination form can be downloaded for this purpose.

The selected farm will be announced prior to the 2024 Great Lakes Regional Dairy Conference and will be honored during the Michigan Dairy Industry Banquet, held as part of the conference. The honoree's portrait will be displayed on the MSU Livestock Pavilion's wall, ensuring their well-deserved recognition. Additionally, the award will be publicized in the recipient's local newspaper and shared with their legislators.
