Oasthouse Ventures to Build Largest U.S. Greenhouse

By Jamie Martin

Oasthouse Ventures has announced the commencement of the largest greenhouse construction in the U.S., set to significantly enhance domestic food security. This initiative, marking a major development in agricultural infrastructure, will be located in Virginia, chosen for its ideal growing conditions.

The project's first phase promises to create 118 jobs and inject $1.1 billion into the local economy. With a planned completion in 2026, the 65-acre facility aims to reduce dependency on imported produce, which often suffers from diminished taste and nutritional value due to lengthy transportation.

Key stakeholders including the Governor of Virginia, the VA Secretary of Agriculture Matt Lohr, and other notable politicians have expressed strong support for this venture, recognizing its potential to revitalize the U.S. agricultural sector.

"I am immensely grateful to the Governor of Virginia and our international partners for their support," said Ben Alexander, Project Director at Oasthouse Ventures.

By focusing on sustainable practices and technological advancements, Oasthouse Ventures aims to set new standards in agricultural quality and efficiency, ensuring fresh produce is grown closer to American consumers, enhancing taste and quality.

This groundbreaking project is not just a step towards self-sufficiency in food production but also a significant contributor to economic growth and job creation in the region, highlighting the strategic importance of sustainable agricultural practices in addressing national food security challenges.
